Armed with an iPad, Matt Jones of Stock-Market-Strategy.com share his tips for trading the stock market
1. Start with the analysis
Chart and technical analysis is the key to successful stock market trading so by using Worden Stockfinder for chart / technical analysis, which we use on our site, or www.freestockcharts.com which is a Silverlight driven browser based software means that you can identify trades that interest you through analysis. At time of writing, Worden have not developed an iPad app due to the software being windows based.
2. Stream live market data
Don’t just depend on one software to deliver live market data to your systems. We get live price feeds from our broker which is Interactive Brokers LLC who have an iPad app. This app delivers Quotes and Charts which you can scan for stocks set alerts and get fundamental information about the stocks you might be interested in. The application also uses the Book Trader Price Ladder that is used on the main trading platform which allows you to execute trades at the touch of the screen. Having your account information on the move is so reassuring in an ever changing world economy and this is definitely the app of choice for Stock-Market-Strategy.com.
3. Don’t be yesterday’s news
Keeping up to speed on breaking news in the financial sector can sometimes feel like swimming upstream and missing half a day of news can feel like you need a week to catch up! So grabbing the Bloomberg app for your iPad is a must. The CNBC real time App is also great for media and taking a quick look at the international index charts.
4. Trading as a hobby
If you are less hands on with your investments, then you can add the Yahoo Finance App to your investor tools and use the manage Watchlist feature to add your portfolio and get news feeds about the stocks you hold in your portfolio. This app is more suitable if you just dabble in the markets and not actively trading due to the delayed data you will receive.
5. Use these apps
